Infineon Ireland really cares about their employees, customers and business. Employees are constantly motivated to grow and everyone has the opportunity to flourish in their work and personal experience, which is a win-win for both. One of the things that I like the most is our team’s supportive and co-operative style in both work and social-related aspect of the job, which I find to be the perfect work-life balance.
Global Customer Logistics Management, Infineon
Why Ireland for Infineon
Infineon is Germany’s largest semiconductor manufacturer and one of the ten largest worldwide. Its core business comprises four industry segments: automotive, industrial power control, power and sensor systems, and connected secure systems. It employs over 58,000 people worldwide.
Infineon’s story in Ireland
Infineon set up its Customer Logistics Management (CLM) centre in 2003 to manage orders and deliveries for its customers. The operation is a cost centre; activities include order management, customer forecasting and contract concepts. The Dublin site supports many of Infineon’s strategic customers across all business segments and across the globe. With a team of more than 38 nationalities and over 25 languages spoken, the CLM team in Dublin consists of more than 100 people and it is the largest CLM site globally within Infineon. In 2021, Infineon Technologies Ireland Limited moved to its new office in the heart of the Liberties with new opportunities expected in the coming years.
Expanding the R&D footprint
Infineon’s R&D operations in Ireland focus on automotive and consumer human machine interface. This came via Infineon’s acquisition of Cypress Semiconductors in 2020, the largest in the company’s history, which added two R&D sites, in Dublin and Cork. The centre in Cork has been operating since 1998 and mainly employs analogue design engineers. The centre in Dublin focuses on digital design verification and architecture.
Together, the two locations employ over 100 people. Most workers there are design engineers, and both teams are expanding.
Infineon’s Irish operation also manages the IP division of the 300-strong R&D team within the Microcontroller Business Unit, spread between sites in Ireland, UK, Germany, Austria, and Japan.
